Clear payment separation by design

MIGS never takes custody of your customer’s invoice money.

MIGS is the invoice and payment-coordination platform. The business and its customer remain the parties to the transaction. Customer payments go directly to the invoicing business through its selected payment provider or direct-payment method.

MIGS funds-custody policy
MIGS does not hold customer invoice funds.
MIGS does not pool funds from different users or customers.
MIGS does not manually pull money from a customer's account.
MIGS does not transfer customer invoice money from Development HQ to a MIGS user.
MIGS does not make payments on behalf of either party.
MIGS records payment status and supporting confirmation.
How payment confirmation works

MIGS confirms the invoice status without becoming the payment intermediary.

There are two confirmation paths. A connected payment processor can confirm an eligible online payment automatically. For direct external payments, the invoicing business confirms that it actually received the money and records the supporting transaction information in MIGS.

Secure online payment — Stripe Connect

When Stripe Connect is enabled in MIGS, each participating business connects its own eligible Stripe account. Customer invoice payments are processed for that connected business. MIGS receives the payment-status confirmation needed to update the invoice, but Development HQ does not receive or redistribute the customer’s invoice funds.

Automatic processor confirmation can trigger the MIGS PAID stamp and update Invoice History.

Direct external payment — manual confirmation

A business may give its customer a Cash App tag or QR code, Chime identifier or QR code, PayPal payment link, or other direct payment instruction. The customer pays that business outside MIGS. The business then records the received payment, reference information, and optional proof in MIGS before the invoice is stamped PAID.

Manual payment evidence does not become a PAID invoice until the invoicing business confirms receipt.

Direct payment options stay between the business and its customer.

MIGS can present the payment information a business chooses to share, but it does not log into those accounts, withdraw money, move balances, or make the payment for the customer.

The business controls its payment account

The MIGS user remains responsible for its own Stripe-connected account, Cash App, Chime, PayPal, bank, cash, check, or other payment arrangement.

The customer controls payment authorization

The customer authorizes payment with the selected external provider or directly with the invoicing business. MIGS does not initiate an unauthorized withdrawal.

MIGS records the result

MIGS can update invoice status, store payment references and proof, apply PAID stamps, and preserve the payment record in Invoice History.

MIGS facilitates the invoice relationship. It does not become the bank.

The invoicing business and its customer retain responsibility for communicating about payment, selecting an available payment method, resolving external payment issues, and confirming direct-payment arrangements. MIGS provides the invoice, payment instructions, status workflow, proof tools, and payment record.
